AMAZING news for us here. If you loved the annual homage I write about my father every year for SaratogaBets , you'll be happy to know that I was asked to do a reading for "Our American Stories" (1.7 million weekly listeners), and guess what -- here it is !

I'd like to leave this bit of info here for y'all. When we're using the DRF Formulator platform while writing our columns, if we say "Sprints", for the most part we mean any one turn race, and when we say "Routes", we mean any TWO turn race. ( For example, we consider a 1 1/8th mile race at Belmont an elongated sprint, and a 6 1/2 furlong race at a Charles Town a route. ) We feel this way, because in our eyes, it's the number of turns that necessitate more energy than being relaxed on a straightaway. Sometimes the sample size for our study can be too large to manually break down, so there may be a few from one category in another, but usually the end result is pretty much the same!

Today's Beatable Favorite(s): Race 6 - #3 Litany  Race 7 - #8 Sam and Jax  ( NOTE: AS OF 11:52, THIS IS NOT A BEATABLE FAVORITE )

I want to thank those that read my column, and have recently opened up accounts as a result of their fondness for what they see here. If you have any questions at any time, you can reach me here on Disqus, or on Twitter @brooklyncowboy1. For those who dig the scene here, and would like to be part of it, registration on our home page is easy, and if you'd like, feel free to include my name in the referral box, and let me know, so I can try and get ya' some cool swag!

Aqueduct - 3/10

Race  1

1.Color Chart

2.Delta Gamma

Two horse race here. Not that they will run 1-2, mind you, but that the winner will be trained by Rice. #2 COLOR CHART takes a big drop in class today after splitting the field when debuting on February 3rd, and six returnees from that heat have come back to go 6:1-1-1-1 next time out ( in three separate heats ), w/an average Beyer improvement of 6.7 points. #5 DELTA GAMMA was a nice runner up in a similar spot on 2/22, but the front wraps were added that day, so it would behoove you to take a peek in the paddock. #3 CARALICIOUS is the most experienced of the remaining entrants, and sometimes that can be a difference maker with maidens.  NOTE: AS OF 11:10, DUE TO A SCRATCH & THE TRACK BEING WET, WE HAVE AMENDED OUR SELECTIONS TO 2-1-3.

Race  2

1.Sweet August Lady

2.Moment of Triumph

3.Princess Mikayah

#2 SWEET AUGUST LADY has a big "For Sale" sticker attached to his rump today by Brown, as this 105K earner can be all yours for 14 large. Mare is 3rd off the layoff here and catches a glib surface for the first time. Her race to lose. #1 MOMENT OF TRIUMPH may be a bit better than the last race implies, as this one slides in from the five hole to the pine and owns a 7:1-2-2 mark locally. #4 PRINCESS MIKAYAH has hit the board in four straight and can easily do so once again.

Race  3

1.Direct Order

2.Mount Travers

3.American Mandate

#5 DIRECT ORDER has only beaten two home in the last two starts, so Servis puts this one up for sale for the first time today and calls on the services of the meet's leading rider. Meeeekest of selections in a race where we were only able to eliminate one of five at first glance. #3 MOUNT TRAVERS showed zilch in the initial stakes try, but is another one who's up for grabs here, and would be no surprise. #1 AMERICAN MANDATE is an extremely consistent sort who has been given a bit of a freshening since the all out maiden score, and not only have BOTH returnees from that affair come back to win next out ( replicating their speed figures ), but five comebackers from the penultimate start ( excluding this one ) returned to go 5:1-1-2 next time out ( from four starts ). Double D rides for The As-Man for the 1st time, so you know he'll go all out to make an impression.  NOTE: AS OF 11:20, DUE TO A LATE SCRATCH THE #2 WILL BE OUR 3RD SELECTION.

Race  4

2.Not About the Nail

#1 GOBI hasn't been seen since the claim on New Year's Eve, and while you could understand if Englehart would drop this one down or enter her back @ the same level, he actually jacks her up by 50%. Chestnut mare has done her best work right here ( 2 fer 5 ), and would not be surprised if Worrie has this one a bit closer to the front end today. #6 NOT ABOUT THE NAIL ( 5-20 at the Big A ) is another being moved up a bit off the purchase, ( despite being out of jail in a few days ) and gets a rider who's won three of his last 7 after going oh-fer-30. #2 AREWEHAVINGFUNYET is a very popular item at the claim box, having changed addresses after 7 of the last 14 where she was eligible to do so. Gal has dome well at this trip & over this strip, so we'll leave underneath.  NOTE: AS OF 11:30, DUE TO THE TRACK BEING WET, THE #8 WILL BE OUR 3RD SELECTION.

Race  5

1.Cool as You Like

2.Jump for Joy

3.Wildcat Belle

#7 COOL AS YOU LIKE is 3:1-1-0 off legit layoffs, 3:1-1-1 when up for sale, and has been in the money in 4 of 5 at the distance. Timid selections in a grab bag of a heat. #1 JUMP FOR JOY has partaken in the exacta in seven straight, and what the hell's wrong with that ? Factor in the two runner up finishes from as many "3rd off the break" forays, and you have the makings of a solid ITM candidate. #3 WILDCAT BELLE tries to get "one for the thumb" here, but we'll slide into our "unders" as Cannizzo has been quite chilly on the top end these days.

Race  6

3.Tiz Morning

#6 HIZAAM is a bit late in starting things out ( four years old ), but went for more than seven times the stud fee at auction, and has been working steadily, if not spectacularly. This is the 3rd foal out of an unraced dam who's daddy's greatness is obviously well known. Another hum drum selection in another race that isn't really whetting our appetite. #4 ERLICH has yet to miss a super & the career best numero came when going two turns to one. Second time blinkers today. #9 TIZ MORNING lost by only a hair in the most recent, and is as good as any for the show dough.  BEATABLE FAVORITE: #3 LITANY doesn't make our first cut, so why would we accept favoritism?  NOTE: AS OF 11:38, DUE TO THE TRACK BEING WET THE #2 WILL BE OUR 3RD SELECTION.

Race  7

1.Fuel the Bern

2.American Power

3.Have Another

#1 FUEL THE BERN had no excuse for flattening out the way he did a month & a half ago, but this one has gone up and down the Beyer ladder over his last sextet, so I guess we can be a mite forgiving, no? Five year old ( who owns a 5:2-0-2 ledger over this oval ) switches from an apprentice to a journeyman here ( an angle we like at times ) and should work out an ideal trip going 7/8th's on the sand for the first time. #3 AMERICAN POWER sheds a whopping 10 pounds off the starter allowance win ten days back and has never been off the board in Queens. #4 HAVE ANOTHER was re-claimed by Barker in the last ( a win )  and they did some good things together last year ( 6:2-1-1 ). Should be a factor late in the game.  BEATABLE FAVORITE: #8 SAM AND JAX  NOTE: AS OF 11:48, DUE TO A LATE SCRATCH & THE TRACK BEING WET, OUR AMENDED SELECTIONS WILL BE 6-8-3 WITH NO BEATABLE FAVORITE.

Race  8

1.Forever Liesl

2.Midnight Dixie

3.Sara Street

#2 FOREVER LIESL was visually impressive when blitzing six others in the Ladies Handicap here on 1/20, and not only has this one won in her lone "3rd start off the shelf", but has also gotten her photo taken both times she cut back from two turns to one. The only bugaboo in the room is the fact that this one is appreciably better over a wet surface, so is a decline in the works. Perhaps, but we'll give this one a slight edge over the Rice three headed monstah. #5 MIDNIGHT DIXIE is 8:5-2-0 lifetime, and do you really need more reason than that to chunk in? Well, how 'bout the fact that gal who finished directly ahead of her came back to win once again, upping the numero by three points in the process. #6 SARA STREET was a gutsy second in her only attempt at this layoff scenario and obviously digs the jernt.

Race  9

1.Simma Cum Laude

2.There Goes Jose

#8 SIMMA CUM LAUDE went 23/0/DNF/DNF/0 in his first five starts, but then Kerry slowly but surely got this one's confidence back by shipping him up to the Lakes, when a showing. placing, win ( at Philadelphia ) ensued, followed up by a 52 Beyer in an extremely tough spot. Best two efforts have come going 2X, and the pilot from the lone tally comes back today. There are MANY unproven routers in this finale, so let's shoot for a price. #8 THERE GOES JOSE is doubled up in price by 48% ( what ??? ) Atras after an honest runner up finish at the end of February, and at this point in the game, you pretty much have to include anything this barn sends out there, no? #4 BIGSOULJOEL closes out our truncated week.
